Grocery Savings part 2

Ok, here was a really good one. By combining purchases of items that I had coupons with and were on super sale, I saved a ton of money. Notice most of your savings will come from store sales. Out of the $48.64 of savings, $37.89 of that came from kroger. Just another reason to start watching your circulars and hitting more then one grocery store.

Grocery Savings

Coupons aren't always the best way to shop. A lot of times you can find the product cheaper even after using a coupon if you use store brands and catch sales. With that being said, I'm trying to combine both sales with coupons for ultimate savings. Here was my receipt from yesterday's shopping. Shopping for the super sale items only and stocking up on things I'll need later, I saved quite a bit.

I spent $39.35 and saved $35.95. I'd call that a success. Any time I save almost as much as I spend, I would call that a success. We bought enough food so that our meals for the week have been taken care of. Not bad considering $40 covers both Marcie and I. Thank you Ashely for getting us into this. Who knew saving money could be this interesting.

By the way, in this purchase, I bough some NY strip steak, fresh produce, and restocked my flour. It wasn't just beans and rice.

Its Movember

You know what that means right? Gentlemen, start your whiskers.

Organization, I has it

Do you like our new fridge calendar? We're going to be super organized from here on out.

Fridge fun

I love refrigerator magnets because you can come up with nuggets of useful phrases like "Your mom is fresh!"

Pie making comes to an end

This is our last pie making attempt. It was pretty fun making. It ended up being kind of a competetion to see who's pie would be the best. Marcie although way more creative then me, did not have her pie make it onto the table for display. Personally, I thought the leaves turned out really well but her design did look really cool so I'll say it was a tie. One more pie for thanksgiving and that's it. I wonder if we should make a pumpkin or pecan pie.

New Moon

Marcie and I went to see New Moon last night. It was CRAZY!

I expected to see lots of girls. Lots and lots of middle school girls but I was very surprised. They had six theaters at Crossroads completely filled. Before the movie started, they showed a preview for a movie that had Robert Paterson in it. The entire room erupted in girlish screams of delight.

That ended and a girl there decided to take a poll. Who's for team Edward and who is team Jacob. Again, both guys got screams from the ladies in the room.

The movie started and the first time Edward shows up on the screen, the screaming started again. Luckily, they quieted down during the actual film. That is until Jacob took off his shirt the first time. And the second. And every time after that. It was actually pretty funny.

The final gasp/scream came in the last line of the movie. Bella and Edward are talking. Edward asks Bella to marry him and the place erupts. It was quite the experience I'll say that.

TomKat names daughter Horse Mackerels

Celebrity couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes might have thought twice about naming their daughter Suri if they'd known that it means "pickpocket" in Japanese, "turned sour" in French, and "horse mackerels" in Italian, suggest Today Translations. (Reuters)

The Ladies

Here are the Ladies in their costumes.

The Guys

Do we look like we're from back in the day?

The Suspects

There was a murder at the Blanchard's Mountain Lodge. This just in, J. Ellis Man did it.

Corona Tap

video
No tape, no tricks, just balance. Crazy right? Marcie and I saw this lady on our honeymoon at one of the places we ate lunch.

Eiffel At Night

video
On the hour through out the night, the tower lights up every night. It's really quite amazing to see something that big light up like that.

View from the Eiffel Tower

video
This is a video I took as I was leaving the Eiffel Tower on my first visit. It got filed away in my wedding pictures some how.

Pictures at Work

I feel like an old person putting my wife's picture up next to my PC. That's something that old married folk do right? Wait, that's me.

Fall Table Setting

Halloween is over and its time for a new table setting. As Marcie learned from her Apples of Gold class, table decorations should be made from things around the house. That way you don't have to store them several months out of the year taking up more space. That being said, the rooster on the table came from our bookshelf and there are always candles laying around the house. Its a work in progress but our house is really turning into a home.

I really liked the napkins for this season. On one side they are brown and have a print of grain heads and on the other side they are cream. I think the colors are cool and the napkin rings are mini picture frames holding our wedding pictures. Its so much fun seeing our special day each time before we eat.

Crane Earrings

Marcie made some paper crane earrings the other day which can be seen on the left. Once done, she applied some kind of paste to make them more durable.
Since I haven't posted in a while, I'll just post a new video that Tim will probably buy. It does look pretty decent if you like cartoons... and I do.
